7th International Symposium on Avian Influenza, Georgia, Athens, USA 5-8 Apr 09
Oral and poster presentations will focus on poultry and wild birds including pathobiology, virus reservoirs and ecology, molecular basis of virulence, vaccines and diagnostics, phylogenetics and molecular epidemiology, risk assessment, transmission, national and international control strategies, economics, updates on recent highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks and impact on human health with a focus on occupational and exposure risks.
To complement the programme, the OIE - FAO joint network of expertise on avian influenza (OFFLU) is planning to hold an afternoon of presentations and discussions on the 8th April, at the same venue. I hope that, if you are attending the main symposium, you will consider participating also in the OFFLU session as this will be an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaborative links and foster the aims of the OFFLU network.
