CIRAD research units working on avian influenza research, in collaboration with the CIRAD formation unit have developed great capacities in terms of training needs, definition of pedagogic objectives; program design and set up of applied pedagogic techniques. This was done in response to an increasing demand for training in epidemiology and epidemiology surveillance; wild birds and laboratory techniques from our national (research or development institutes) and international (funding agencies) partners. Numerous workshops have been set up by the unit researchers within the framework of projects on surveillance and control of avian influenza.
